Our new guest sauna officially opened today here at our park. “Incredibly relaxing” and “made their day” were some of the comments we heard from our first people through the door. Many guests are looking forward to a dip in our heated pool later today followed by a “relax” in the sauna.

You asked and we delivered! Our back ammenities block has had a full make over and they look fantastic. They have sparkley new tiles, quality fittings and state of the art contemporary hand dryers. You can now even do your laundry in style in our beautiful new laundry. Come along and check them out.

The kids had a fantastic time drawing their favorite characters during “chalk graffitti” yesterday. “Toothless, from How to train a dragon” was one of the many very cool pictures drawn for everyone in the park to admire.

Whales visit Emerald Beach

On Wednesday, a group of Emerald Beach Holiday Park guests were delighted to see a group of whales frolicking off Emerald Beach. They said that “there were heaps of them and that they were really close in to the shore”. At this time of the year, we frequently have sightings of whales and pods of dolphins at swimming just off the beach. They are beautiful animals to watch.

Exciting news! The nine-kilometre route around the Coffs Creek is having a $2m upgrade. The work has started and will transform the walkway into a shared path for both cycles and walkers. It will link the CBD with some of the city’s major tourist attractions. It will make a lovely tourist route taking in the Botanic Gardens, the Pet Porpoise pool, the Jetty Beaches and a few lovely restaurants.

Stage 1 complete! Our new laundry at the back ammenities looks fantastic and is up and running. There are sparkley new tiles from wall to ceiling, beautiful new benches and sinks and a lovely spacious feel.

The tiling is almost finished in the bathrooms and we are eagerly awaiting the fitting of the toilets and sinks. The laundry by our front camp kitchen is also having an overhall so watch this space……

Holidaying with Kangaroos

We are very lucky to have several families of wild Kangaroos who visit our park regularly. You will often see them resting under a shady tree during the day and grazing in the morning and evenings in and around your cabins and sites.

The kangaroos in the park are very used to having their photo taken but we do ask that you keep a distance of about 10m from them. Please supervise your children closely to ensure that they do not try to get to close to them.

While the risk of being attacked by a kangaroo is extremely low and to date, we have never had an incidence in the park, they are wild, powerful and unpredictable creatures. A kangaroo might attack if they see a person as a threat to themselves, their group or their offspring.

To avoid conflict, do not walk directly up to a kangaroo, stand up tall, stare or hold your arms out. These actions say that you want to fight. Please leave them alone if they are sparring, growling or clucking or looking agitated.

Coffs Harbour’s Bald Archy

Our guests last year thoroughly enjoyed The Bald Archy Prize show. It is a really fun and slightly “off the wall” collection of characture portraits ranging from bizzare to hilarous and will be in Coffs Harbour again this year at the bunker cartoon gallery from the 5th of June til the 17th of June. It is well worth a visit.

The Sawtell Chilli Festival is on again. This year it will be on the 3rd of July and will be a fantastic, fun day full of music, food stalls, competitions and eateries! Whether you like your food spicy or not, it is a great day out for all of the family.
